Starter Island is a 5-day competition held throughout the Islands of The Bahamas where teams of local and international entrepreneurs build their startups while exploring The Bahamas. This year we built and explored Nassau, Bahamas. We toured creative spaces and had special challenges all provided by Nassau’s entrepreneurial community.
The Creativity, Technology and Life-Design Public Lecture Series is a series of public lectures/events spearheaded by Dr Desiree Cox starting May 5th 2016 at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) This event takes the form of a Pitch Night where people pitch ideas and projects in a casual setting, being co-hosted by Shift the Culture (www.shifttheculture.com) and The HEALinc – Health Innovation Incubator – (www.thehealinc.com).

This inspiring journey began with meaningful and supportive collaboration between Shift the Culture, Techstars, the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, UP Global, Global Shapers Community Nassau, Startup Bahamas, the Inter-American Development Bank and Compete Caribbean.

The journey of Startup Weekend Nassau began when The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approached Shift The Culture to collaborate on this project with them a few months back.
A company’s brand is an intangible yet priceless asset. Luckily with Sass we can make it tangible by defining and implementing brand elements in our projects. Branding with Sass keeps projects fresh and exciting and it adds continual value to your clients. From the initial design, to rebranding, and translating design consistency to different assets, this talk is about using brand development as a foundation for designing web interfaces and using Sass as a toolkit and resource for enhancing a company’s brand for the web and potentially everything else.
